The 2025 Understanding China Conference is being held from November 30 to December 2 in Guangzhou.

Hassan Diab, Former Prime Minister of Lebanon, shared in an interview with SFC journalists that there is already small-scale e-commerce cooperation between China and Lebanon. While Lebanon is much smaller in size compared to China, the sector holds great promise for future expansion—especially with the widespread adoption of the internet, 5G and other technologies today.

“I fully support expanding cooperation in both e-commerce and higher education,” he said. During his tenure, particularly when he served as Lebanon’s Minister of Higher Education, Diab promoted cooperative initiatives with China in the higher education sector.

“Whenever we build cooperation bridges and open channels in any field, it is not only beneficial but also a win-win.”
