On December 18, China’s Hainan Free Trade Port officially launched island‑wide special customs operations, creating a special customs supervision zone that links overseas markets with the Chinese mainland more smoothly under a “free first line, regulated second line” system.
The first truck shipment of 410,000 latex catheters from Hainan Weili Medical Technology Development Co., Ltd., sailed out of Hainan via Xinhai Port and is now on its way to Guangdong before heading overseas. Since the 2023 pilot of the value‑added processing policy, the company has saved nearly 4 million yuan in tariffs, highlighting how the Free Trade Port is promoting China’s higher‑level opening up and enabling local products to reach global markets more efficiently.
