This year marks Shen Yanfen's fourth year as a deputy to the National People's Congress. As a "new farmer" from Guangdong, she has not only taken up the baton of her family's agricultural legacy but also brought the earnest hopes from the fields to the National Two Sessions.
Six years ago, Shen Yanfen, then in her twenties, quitted her white-collar job in Shenzhen, returned to her hometown in Zengcheng, Guangzhou, and became a "New Farmer". She transformed from a novice afraid to cross field ridges into a skilled all-around female machinery operator, founded Guangzhou's first agricultural machinery cooperative union, and revitalized nearly 2,000 mu of idle farmland. With a dynamic young team, she is revolutionizing traditional agriculture through cutting-edge technology, strategic branding, and innovative thinking.
Over the past year, Shen Yanfen has remained rooted in the fields, focusing on training young agricultural machinery operators, promoting the application of agricultural technologies, and supporting the development of full-chain agricultural socialized services...Through these efforts, she continues to inject youthful energy into agricultural modernization and rural development.
