From manufacturing, brand marketing to cultural derivatives, Chinese elements abound both on and off the field of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that kicked off last night.
China Railway Construction Corporation designed and built one of the Qatar World Cup's main stadiums, Lusail Stadium, which is the largest and most advanced one among professional soccer stadiums built by Chinese enterprises. In addition, Chinese firm Unilumin is the provider of the LED big screen for the World Cup.
The Al-Qasar 800-megawatt photovoltaic plant designed and built by the Power Construction Corporation of China has been put into operation, providing green energy to the World Cup. China Energy Engineering Corporation and China Gezhouba Group took part in building the super large impounding reservoir, offering clear drinking water to the World Cup.
More than 3,000 China-made vehicles provide shuttle service to venues of the World Cup, with all 888 new energy vehicles serving the competition from Chinese company Yutong, a quarter of the total vehicles in operation for the game.
Yiwu Sports Goods Association estimates that "Made in Yiwu" has accounted for nearly 70 percent of the World Cup's peripheral goods market share, from flags for the Qatar World Cup round of 32 to ornaments and throw pillows.
Chinese brands are also betting on amounting sponsorship to enhance their international influence, according to Global Data, a consulting and analytic company headquartered in London.
Wanda Group, Hisense Group, Vivo and dairy company Mengniu are four official Chinese sponsors of FIFA, while Wanda has become one of FIFA's seven corporate partners. The commercial property giant signed an $850 million deal for 15 years with FIFA, up until the 2030 tournament.
Data showed Chinese companies provided more sponsorship revenue than companies from any other country at the 2022 World Cup, ranking as the world's top with nearly $1.4 billion, exceeding that of the US at $1.1 billion.
As the craze of the World Cup soccer tournament spreads across the globe, Chinese internet platforms are rushing to join the carnival and compete for a huge number of sports fans in the country by offering a "metaverse-like" viewing experience enabled by 5G and virtual reality (VR).
Chinese streaming service Migu, a subsidiary of China Mobile, and Douyin, are sharing digital coverage of the events with state-owned broadcaster China Media Group. Migu announced plans to hold a "Metaverse World Cup Music Festival" and a "surprise visitor" from 2070 will appear at the event, while Douyin's VR headset maker Pico said users can watch live broadcasts of the World Cup using its VR goggles, enabling soccer fans to invite their friends from afar into their own digital rooms to watch matches together.

在工程机械等重工制造方面，中国铁建以设计施工总承包身份承建卡塔尔世界杯的主体育场——卢赛尔体育场，并在建设卢塞尔球场过程中创造了多项行业纪录：世界最大跨度双层索网屋面单体建筑，全球首个在全生命周期深入应用建筑信息模型（BIM）技术的世界杯主场馆项目，同时也是中企在海外承建的规模最大、技术最先进的专业足球场。此外，球场上还有来自中国的LED光显产品与解决方案。据了解，洲明科技为2022年卡塔尔世界杯的LED大屏供应商。
此外，中国电建总承包的卡塔尔阿尔卡萨800兆瓦光伏电站日前建成投产，助力世界杯的绿色能源供应；中国能建葛洲坝集团参与承建的超大型战略蓄水池为世界杯提供清洁饮用水保障；还有三一重工、精工钢构、巨力索具等也参与了卡塔尔世界杯相关设施的建设。此外，卡塔尔世界杯赛事服务用车首次引入新能源客车，这些纯电动车辆均由中国企业宇通客车提供，总计888辆，占运营总车辆的25%以上。
据义乌体育用品协会估算，从卡塔尔世界杯32强的旗帜，到大力神杯的摆件和抱枕，“义乌制造”已占到整个世界杯周边商品市场份额的近70%。
除了中国制造，还有中国企业以品牌赞助的方式亮相。
参与世界杯相关赞助的方式一般分为四大类别：世界杯官方赞助商、国家队赞助商、持权媒体合作、签约足球明星。其中，世界杯官方赞助商包括国际足联合作伙伴、世界杯赞助商、世界杯区域赞助商。
据不完全统计，截至11月17日，有19家中国赞助商通过上述方式参与卡塔尔世界杯，除了万达集团、海信集团、蒙牛乳业、vivo、华帝股份等老面孔，还有智能投影品牌当贝、生活方式分享平台小红书、厨卫品牌万家乐、福建盼盼食品集团有限公司、前瑞幸咖啡创始人陆正耀的全新创业项目库迪咖啡这些新面孔。品牌赞助是一笔不小的投入。“体育搭台，经济唱戏”，这一赛事套路，已被业界广泛认可。
赛事观看也少不了中国元素，特别是观赛体验的创新。除了传统的大屏、小屏，在这一届世界杯，短视频平台、元宇宙、VR设备的悉数登场将丰富观众的远程观赛体验。
11月14日，2022世界杯持权转播商、中央广播电视总台2022世界杯官方直播合作伙伴抖音集团上线了“世界杯”专题页。除赛事转播外，还上线了“边看边聊”等多种互动活动。同为2022世界杯持权转播商的中国移动咪咕视频日前宣布将首次呈现世界杯8K直播，还会在此次赛事期间打造首个世界杯“元宇宙”虚拟观赛互动空间。

China's financial hub Shanghai is expected to have over 77,000 5G base stations by the end of 2023 as part of the city's efforts to boost 5G coverage, local authorities said. More than 4,000 commercial buildings and major public buildings would achieve indoor 5G coverage, and 90 percent of the city would have access to 5G services by the end of next year, according to an action plan released by the Shanghai Communications Administration on Friday.
上海计划5G网络覆盖率超90%：11月18日，上海市通信管理局印发《5G网络能级提升“满格上海”行动计划》，提出到2023年底，实现5G基站规模超过7.7万个，超过4000幢商务楼宇和重点公共建筑完成5G室内覆盖，5G网络覆盖率超过90%。重点区域平均下载速率达到1000Mbps，上行达到200Mbps，5G用户渗透率达到70%。到“十四五”期末，将上海打造成为5G网络部署和融合应用的全球标杆城市。

China's oil and gas producer PetroChina Saturday started to extract natural gas to fill the Hutubi natural gas storage tank in Xinjiang, which is the largest of its kind in China. With a designed gas storage capacity of 10.7 billion cubic meters, the Hutubi gas storage facility connects to China's second west-to-east natural gas pipeline and plays a vital role in the seasonal peak regulation of gas reserves in northern Xinjiang.

China has achieved a new world efficiency record at 26.81 percent for silicon solar cells, according to the certification report of ISFH in Hameln, Germany, Chinese solar giant LONGi Green Energy Technology Co said on Saturday. A Japanese company set the previous PV efficiency record at 26.7 percent in 2017.

Shares of Bestore fluctuated after the Chinese snack retailer revealed another stock reduction involving the famous private equity firm Hillhouse. Hillhouse will transfer nearly 5.6 percent stake in the fruit and nut snack seller due to capital needs, Bestore said in a statement yesterday. The announcement came only two days after the company said three other shareholders have finished reducing their holdings.
高瓴系清仓式减持良品铺子：11月20日下午，良品铺子发布公告，高瓴系股东拟进一步减持公司股份。“高瓴系”计划自2022年12月13日至2023年5月21日期间通过集中竞价方式、自2022年11月25日至2023年5月21日通过大宗交易或协议转让方式减持公司股份数量合计不超过2229.00万股，合计不超过公司总股本的5.56%。四轮减持计划完成后，高瓴系股东将不再持有良品铺子的股份，实现清仓式减持。
Shanghai Disney Resort has rebutted a rumor that its theme park will close its doors for good on Dec. 15. The screenshot of a document circulating online that purports to show Shanghai Disneyland will cease operations is fake, the resort said Friday. Shanghai Disney Resort began its first phase of reopening on Thursday, it said, after temporarily closing on Oct. 31 in compliance with Covid-19 regulations following a visitor’s positive test result. Disney Town, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel have all resumed operations.

Leading Chinese venture capital company Lightspeed China Partners has invested almost 100 million yuan in the Series A fundraiser of Daisch Intelligent Technology, a Chinese startup of navigation product science and technology. The proceeds will be used to enhance delivery ability, broaden product line-up, and strengthen the ability of market expansion of Daisch, the startup said in a release today.

China’s financial regulators voiced support of financing for certain property developers, the latest effort by policymakers to address the real estate crisis and bolster economic growth. Yi Huiman, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission(CSRC), said on a forum today that China should pay close attention to the difficulties and challenges facing the real estate sector, and the CSRC will give support to quality developers in improving the irbalance sheets. Yi vowed to continue to support the reasonable bond financing, M&As and restructuring, as well as equity financing of real estate firms with good records.
支持优质房企合理融资：11月21日证监会主席易会满在2022金融街论坛年会上的主题演讲时表示，要坚持服务实体经济这个着力点。主动融入经济社会大局，更好落实高水平科技自立自强、建设现代化产业体系等战略部署，促进科技、资本和实体经济高水平循环。制定实施新一轮推动提高上市公司质量三年行动方案。当前，要密切关注房地产行业面临的困难挑战，支持实施改善优质房企资产负债表计划，继续支持房地产企业合理债券融资需求，支持涉房企业开展并购重组及配套融资，支持有一定比例涉房业务的企业开展股权融资。
China's central bank issued 25 billion yuan worth of central bank bills in the Hong Kong SAR on Monday. Of the total, 10 billion yuan worth of central bank bills will mature in three months, and the other 15 billion yuan will mature in one year, with respective interest rates of 2.09 percent and 2.5 percent, according to the People's Bank of China. The issuance was well-received by overseas investors, with total bidding reaching about 55 billion yuan, roughly 2.2 times the value issued.
在港发行250亿央票超购逾2倍：中国人民银行21日在香港成功发行了两期人民币央行票据，其中3个月期央行票据100亿元，1年期央行票据150亿元，中标利率分别为2.09%和2.50%。此次发行受到境外投资者广泛欢迎，投标总量接近550亿元，约为发行量的2.2倍，表明人民币资产对境外投资者有较强吸引力，也反映了全球投资者对中国经济的信心。
China's one-year loan prime rate (LPR), a market-based benchmark lending rate, came in at 3.65 percent Monday, unchanged from the previous month. The over-five-year LPR, on which many lenders base their mortgage rates, also remained unchanged from the previous reading of 4.3 percent, according to the National Interbank Funding Center.
11月LPR报价出炉：21日，中国人民银行授权全国银行间同业拆借中心公布，2022年11月21日贷款市场报价利率（LPR）为：1年期LPR为3.65%，5年期以上LPR为4.3%，意味着本月一年期、五年期以上LPR双双维持不变。
China’s securities regulator has made public the first batch of financial institutions authorized to sell private pensions. Some 14 brokerages, 16 banks and seven independent funds made the list of private pension providers, the CSRC revealed on Friday.
个人养老金代销机构名录出炉：经过短暂公开征求意见后，11月18日，银保监会正式发布《关于印发商业银行和理财公司个人养老金业务管理暂行办法的通知》，该通知自印发之日起施行。首批开办个人养老金业务的机构名单中，包括了16家商业银行、14家头部证券公司，另外还有7家独立基金销售机构。

Chinese stocks fell on Monday as the country fights numerous Covid flare-ups. The benchmark Shanghai Composite slid 0.39 percent and the Shenzhen Component edged down 0.41 percent. Hong Kong stocks suffered more losses as the Hang Seng lost 1.87 percent, while the Tech Index declined 2.96 percent.
