"Guangdong is an extremely open province and also a highly international vibrant hub. In my view, Israeli enterprises are presented with enormous opportunities in Guangdong – they can showcase their products here and build cooperation bridges with local businesses."said Yaacov Lopez, the Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, in an interview with 21st Century Business Herald on Monday morning.
Lopez who was invited to observe the opening meeting of the fifth Session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress on January 26, shared his insights into Guangdong's economy and his expectations for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting to be held in Shenzhen.
As a third-generation diplomat, Lopez has previously served in Nairobi, Los Angeles and Berlin. Talking about his tenure in Guangdong, he noted that he was deeply impressed by the delicious cuisine and profound cultural and historical heritage of South China. His core responsibilities in Guangdong include exploring high-quality cooperation opportunities, connecting resources from all parties, and fostering a favorable environment for deepening China-Israel collaboration. Lopez is convinced that when Israel and Guangdong join hands, they will surely achieve remarkable accomplishments together.
