China on Friday kicked off the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, with many places across the country seeing a significant rebound in travel and other holiday activities from the May Day holidays boosted by improvements in the COVID-19 epidemic situation, eased restrictions and consumption-boosting measures. 

The domestic tourism revenue reached 25.82 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.2 percent, and recovered to 65.6 percent in the same period in 2019, according to the Ministry of culture and tourism on Sunday. The three-day holiday ending on Sunday saw a total of 79.61 million domestic tourist trips, a year-on-year decrease of 10.7 percent and a comparable recovery to 86.8 percent in the same period in 2019. 

During the period, the search for tourism on some major OTA platforms also increased significantly. Data from Ctrip show that as of June 4, the total order volume of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday increased by 37 percent compared with the first day of the May Day holiday. Shanghai even saw a jump of 146 percent in hotel bookings during the first two days of the holiday, compared to the May Day holiday.

The revival of the homestay market is also a feature of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. According to Tujia’s data, the homestay market in Beijing and Shanghai has accelerated its recovery, and the booking volume of home-stays in the suburbs of Beijing has recovered to 70 percent of the same period last year. Data from the Alibaba-backed online booking platform Fliggy, the orders for hotels, homestays and car rentals during the holiday this year all doubled compared with the same period of May Day.

China's box office, which includes pre-sales, another important barometer for domestic consumption, recorded a box office revenue of 178 million yuan during the past three days, according to ticketing platform Maoyan, as businesses in more cities and provinces resumed.

In addition, data from China Railway Corporation show that passenger volume is also recovering. From June 2 to June 5, the national railways transported an average of 5.4 million passengers per day, which increased by more than 2 million than the May Day holiday.  

相比五一假期,今年端午节的旅游市场恢复势头良好。端午假期国内旅游收入258.2亿元,旅游业复苏现拐点。

6月5日,根据中国文化和旅游部数据中心数据,2022年端午节假期,全国国内旅游出游7961.0万人次,同比下降10.7%,按可比口径恢复至2019年同期的86.8%;实现国内旅游收入258.2亿元人民币,同比下降12.2%,恢复至2019年同期的65.6%。这一数据相较于此前五一假期出游人次同比减少30.2%、旅游收入同比减少42.9%来看,已经有明显恢复。端午节旅游消费的恢复,是消费者积压的旅游意愿、相对便宜的旅游价格、地方政府通过消费券等手段力推等多方作用的结果。

端午期间,各大OTA平台旅游搜索大幅增长。携程数据显示,截至6月4日,端午假期总订单量相较五一假期的第一天增长了37%;飞猪数据显示,今年端午节酒店、民宿和租车订单量较五一同期均实现翻倍增长。尤其明显的是,此前受疫情影响大城市居民的旅游出行有所恢复。以上海为例,携程数据显示,端午假期前两天总订单量相较清明就已增长146%,酒店订单量相较清明假期增长48%。

民宿市场的重新崛起也是本次端午假期的一个特色。根据途家民宿6月5日发布的端午小长假报告显示,北京、上海民宿市场加速回暖,京郊民宿端午预订量已恢复至去年同期7成。

在经历了清明档、五一档等重要档期的撤片潮后,端午假期的票房表现给市场注入了希望。猫眼的数据显示,端午假期三天票房达到了1.78亿元,全国电影院的营业率也明显提高,相比于五一档的冰点状态,可以看到影市正在迅速回暖。

此外,根据中国铁路总公司的数据,客运量也在增加。6月2日至6月5日,全国铁路平均每天运送旅客540万人次,比五一假期增加200万人次以上。  

  • According to the China Manned Space Administration (CMSA), at 17:42 pm Beijing time on June 5, Shenzhou 14 successfully docked with the radial port of the Tianhe core module, and the crew entered the orbital capsule from the return capsule of the spaceship. The Shenzhou 14 spacecraft carrying three astronauts in the crew, was launched at 10:44 am from a service tower at the Jiuquan centre on Sunday. 

    神舟十四航天员进驻天和核心舱:据中国载人航天工程办公室消息,北京时间6月5日17时42分,神舟十四号成功对接于天和核心舱径向端口,航天员乘组从返回舱进入轨道舱。航天员陈冬、刘洋、蔡旭哲顺利进入太空,空间站建造阶段首次载人飞行发射任务取得圆满成功。

  • The Shanghai municipal government has recently held two roundtables with major US enterprises and foreign automakers to assist them in tackling obstacles during the process of returning to work. During the meetings, senior executives from foreign enterprises expressed their unchanged determination to continue developing their businesses and expand investment in Shanghai.

  • Hong Kong’s private sector expanded in May at the fastest pace in more than a decade as the city gradually eased its toughest Covid restrictions and a severe outbreak receded. The S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to 54.9 in May, up from 51.7 in April. It was the second straight month of expansion after three months of contraction.

    香港5月标普全球PMI创11年新高:6月6日,5月标普全球香港特区采购经理指数(PMI)经季节调整后,由上月的51.7升至54.9,反映私营经济连续两月扩张,并创下2011年3月以来最佳增长率。显示随着疫情回稳,企业新接的订单逐渐回流,因此积极复产,并重新吸纳人手,扩充采购活动。

  • High schools in Shanghai welcomed back their second- and third-year students on Monday after nearly three months away. Students in other grades of primary and secondary schools will continue to study online at home until the end of the semester. Shanghai has also postponed the national college entrance exam by a month to July 7-9.

    上海高二高三学生复学:6月6日,上海全市高三、高二年级学生返校复学,中小学其他各年级学生继续居家在线学习至学期结束。根据上海市疫情防控有关安排,返校复学不做强制要求,学生可返校复学也可居家线上学习。此前,上海已发出通知,秋季高考统考延期至7月7日至9日举行。 

  • Beijing reopens restaurants and food vendors industry on Monday, since there were no positive cases in society aspect from June 4 to 15, according to a report presented at a conference on the capital’s COVID prevention on June 5.

    北京今起恢复餐饮营业:6月5日,北京市新冠病毒肺炎疫情防控发布会报告称,从6月4日0时至15时,北京市无社会面筛查新增阳性人员,这意味着除部分仍受疫情影响的区域外,餐饮行业将结束自5月1日开始的禁令,于6月6日逐步恢复正常营业。

  • China's warehouse storage sector expanded in May, according to a survey jointly released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and CMST Development Co., Ltd on Sunday. The index tracking the sector's development rose 3.7 percentage points from April to 50.2 percent, putting it back in the expansion range. On the other hand, China’s e-commerce logistics activities increased by 2.1 points to 104.3 points in May, while the overall e-commerce logistics business volume index increased by 5.4 points to 117.8 points, up 5.4 points from April, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and e-commerce giant JD.com.

    5月仓储、物流指数回升:6月5日,中国物流与采购联合会发布的2022年5月份中国仓储指数,数据为50.2%,较上月回升3.7个百分点。另外,中国物流与采购联合会和京东集团联合调查的2022年5月中国电商物流指数为104.3点,比上月回升2.1个点,电商物流总业务量指数实现止跌回升。该指数为117.8点,比上月提高5.4个点。

  • The State Grid Corporation of China said that it will invest an all-time high of more than 500 billion yuan in power grid projects in 2022 to help bolster China’s economic growth amid the COVID-19 epidemic. The input is expected to drive more than 1 trillion yuan in investment from all sources. The company will start constructing ultra-high voltage power transmission projects as early as possible, and begin construction on key power grid projects below 500 kilo-Volt.

    国家电网今年投资达5000亿:6日消息,国家电网近日表示,将全力加大电网投入,发挥投资拉动作用。今年电网投资5000亿元以上,达到历史最高水平,预计带动社会投资超过1万亿元。国家电网将尽早开工川渝主网架、张北—胜利、武汉—南昌等8项特高压工程,开工一批500千伏及以下重点电网项目。 

  • The annual promotional campaigns at multiple e-commerce platforms kicked off on June 1. Sales took off in the beginning hours, especially on upscale big-ticket items. For example, Suning reported a 78-percent year-on-year sales increase on high-end home appliances of over 10,000 yuan during its first round of the campaign. Also, JD.com and Pinduoduo have collaborated with cities like Shanghai to issue vouchers for customers to use on top of already reduced prices.

  • Ant Group Co. launched its digital bank in Singapore on Monday, as China’s largest online financial platform branches out of its home market. ANEXT Bank will provide digital financial services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that have cross-border operations, it said in a statement on Monday. Ant will allow these businesses to open an account from the third quarter of this year.

    蚂蚁旗下星熠数字银行开业:6月6日,蚂蚁集团的全资子公司星熠数字银行(ANEXT Bank)在新加坡开业。该集团在公告中称,该行将专注服务注册地在新加坡和东南亚区域的中小微企业,尤其是从事跨境贸易的企业,为其提供创新、安全的多种数字金融服务。据悉,ANEXT 将于今年第三季度开始允许企业开户。

  • Chinese stocks advanced on Monday as a loosening of Covid-19 restrictions in Beijing increased bets that economic activity will pick up, while measures to revive the economic growth helped boost investor sentiment. The Shanghai Composite closed up 1.28 percent to two-month highs and the Shenzhen Component rose 2.66 percent. Stocks also climbed in Hong Kong. The Hang Seng ended 2.71 percent higher as the TECH Index soared 4.64 percent, with Meituan providing the biggest boost, after the delivery giant’s first-quarter sales beat consensus.

    周一A股三大指数早盘集体冲高后,午后维持高位震荡,沪指站上3200点。截止收盘,沪指涨1.28%,深成指涨2.66%,创业板指涨3.92%。沪深两市全天成交额11125亿元,自5月11日以来首次突破1万亿元。港股恒生指数收涨2.71%,恒生科技指数收涨4.64%,美团暴涨近7%。
