On January 21, the Press Conference on "Achievements of Guangdong's 14th Five-Year Plan – Jieyang Session" was held in Guangzhou, highlighting the overall progress and key achievements of Jieyang's economic and social development during China's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).

Jieyang boasts a solid manufacturing foundation. The city produces over 40 percent of the China's women's underwear and homewear, ranking first in China in terms of industry scale. Its plastic slipper sector generates an annual output value exceeding RMB 30 billion, with products sold both at home and abroad. Jieyang is also a key global manufacturing hub, supplying approximately 60 percent of the world's stainless-steel tableware. In addition, it accounts for over 90 percent of China's domestic sales of mid- to high-end jadeite.
Since the launch of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Jieyang has firmly put manufacturing at the heart of its development strategy, vigorously advancing technological upgrading and digital transformation across local enterprises. This focus has resulted in positive year-on-year growth in industrial technological transformation investment for 36 consecutive months, and driven more than 1,000 companies to carry out technological upgrading and over 600 companies to implement digital transformation, yielding solid results in the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
