China will "fully" promote the research and development of 6G as well as other cutting-edge technologies this year, including humanoid robots, the metaverse and quantum technology, to better support the construction of a modern industrial system, the top industry regulator said on Wednesday.
Industry and Information Technology minister Jin Zhuanglong said accelerated steps will be made to make action plans to develop these future industries, and the ministry encourages local governments to take the lead in speeding up the layout of future industries to seize the chances of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation.
Supported by the ministry, a working group of IMT2030 (6G) has been set up to build a platform that integrates production, study, research and application for industries. It will also encompass research institutions and basic operators for further international cooperation, as well as communication and technology research and development, said Jin.
The construction of China's 5G network is advancing steadily, and the network coverage capability continues to improve. A statistical bulletin of the communications industry in 2022 issued by the MIIT showed that the number of 5G base stations reached 2.31 million last year, accounting for more than 60 percent of the world.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), China will vigorously promote the integration of 5G technology applications and product application achievements, especially the deep integration of 5G+ Industrial Internet and the manufacturing industry, said the press conference.
The solid foundation of 5G applications makes it possible for China to continue to lead in the development of the next-generation technology standards for broadband networks, experts said.
A market research and analysis report for 6G released by market analysis firm Market Research Future suggested that nearly half of the world's 6G patent applications came from China, the largest in the world.
The report predicted that by 2040, the global 6G market will reach $340 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of over 58 percent between 2030 and 2040.

金壮龙在谈到现代化产业体系时说，要前瞻布局未来产业。未来产业是抢抓新一轮科技革命和产业变革的机遇，实现引领发展的重要抓手。
工信部将研究制定未来产业发展行动计划，加快布局人形机器人、元宇宙、量子科技等前沿领域，全面推进6G技术研发。同时也鼓励地方先行先试，加快布局未来产业。
对于6G，金壮龙介绍说，工信部不断总结5G发展经验，支持产业界组建了IMT2030(6G)工作组，为产业界、研究机构、基础运营商等搭建产学研用平台，加强国际合作和交流，加强技术研发。
此次发布会还介绍了中国5G网络建设方面的情况。据介绍，中国已经建成了全球规模最大、技术领先的5G网络。5G基站超过231万个，覆盖全国所有地级市、所有县城城区。5G网络供给能力随着应用、设施的不断完善也不断提升，对构建涵盖系统、芯片、终端的完整产业链发挥了重大引领作用。
“十四五”期间，中国将持续提升5G网络覆盖的深度和广度，大力推进5G技术应用、产品应用成果融入到经济社会的各行各业，特别是要推动“5G+工业互联网”向制造业深入融合方向发展。
市场研究机构MarketResearchFuture预计，2040年全球6G市场规模超过3400亿美元，其间年复合增长率将达58.1%。该机构认为，中国将是全球最大的6G市场之一。
A total of 28.17 million people have participated in the personal pension system in 36 pilot cities and regions since its launch at the end of last year, said Li Zhong, vice minister of Human Resources and Social Security on Thursday. Each participant can contribute up to 12,000 yuan a year to their individual pension account at present, and the ministry will review and raise the cap in due course. Li stressed that account owners can enjoy tax breaks on their private pension payments and income, while withdrawals are subject to a lower rate of 3 percent. Also, there is a wide range of products, including 137 public funds,19 commercial insurance, 18 wealth management products and 465 savings deposits, to meet different needs in pension investment. Meanwhile, Wang Xiaoping, the human resources minister, said China’s job market was better than expected in January and February, and the country's employment will continue to pick up this year with an improvement in economic operation. In 2023, the number of college graduates will reach 11.58 million, and the structural conflict between difficulty of recruitment and finding jobs remains outstanding, Wang said, adding the government will step up support to help college graduates, migrant workers and unemployed people.
人社部称会适时调整个人养老金缴费上限：3月2日，国新办举行“权威部门话开局”系列主题新闻发布会，人力资源和社会保障部副部长李忠介绍，去年年底，个人养老金制度在36个先行城市和地区启动实施，实施3个月以来，参加人数已经达到2817万人。目前，个人养老金相关优惠政策主要体现在三个环节，在缴费阶段缴费金额享受个人所得税税前扣除，投资收益不征税，领取时按3%较低税率征税。目前，每年缴费上限是12000元，以后会适时调整缴费上限。有关监管部门按照安全规范、侧重长期保值增值等要求，批准了137只公募基金、19个商业养老保险、18支理财产品、465个储蓄存款等个人养老金投资产品。参加人可以根据自己的投资偏好自主选择。随着制度实施，投资产品还会进一步丰富。另外，人社部部长王晓萍表示，从今年前两个月的情况来看，就业市场平稳有序，好于预期。随着经济运行整体好转，今年就业形势将持续回暖，保持总体稳定。从今年前两个月的情况来看，就业市场平稳有序，好于预期。她强调，与此同时也要看到，就业总量压力依然存在。2023年，高校毕业生将达到1158万人，招工难、就业难并存的结构性矛盾依然突出，普工难招、技术工人短缺。

The government of Guangdong province announced nine sets of measures on Thursday to boost the confidence, vitality and quality development of market players. The measures target sectors such as enterprises, manufacturing, foreign trade, rural revitalization, self-employed businesses and financial support, said Hu Hong, deputy secretary-general of the provincial government, at a news conference in Guangzhou on Thursday.
The package concerning enterprises includes 22 measures updated from previous policies, including value-added tax measures for supporting various sectors, reduction of financing guarantee costs for small enterprises and continued tax exemptions for new energy vehicle purchases. It also contains 25 new measures, including those on preferential highway toll charges, cultivation of quality enterprises and standardization of the preliminary work in investment projects in seven key sectors. The other 12 measures in the set are extensions of previous policies, including those on reduction of the value-added tax for small taxpayers and facilitation of major foreign-invested projects.
The second batch of stimulus package is on the way, Hu added, to inject confidence in market players, including more supports for private investment and individual businesses.

其中，有12项是延续去年行之有效的政策措施，比如减免小规模纳税人增值税、加快推进重大外资项目建设等；有22项是更新修订原有政策，比如落实落细增值税行业支持政策、减轻小微企业融资担保费用负担、继续实施阶段性免征新能源企业车辆购置税等；新增25项措施，包括实施优质企业梯度培育计划、推进七大领域投资项目前期工作标准化、实施高速公路通行费优惠措施等。
胡洪表示，除了这9份政策外，广东省正在积极储备后续政策，第二批提振信心激发活力助推市场主体高质量发展的系列政策将尽快出台，涵盖加大力度支持民间投资发展、推进重大科技基础设施与大型科研仪器向社会开放、统筹内外资一体化招商、促进个体工商户发展、强化市场主体诉求响应平台服务等领域。

BYD once again ranked first as China's new energy vehicle market rebounded last month after sluggish sales in January, selling 193,655 NEVs in February, up 119 percent from a year earlier, according to a statement the Chinese carmaker released yesterday. GAC's Aion sold 30,086 units last month, a year-on-year jump of 253 percent. All Chinese EV startups except Xpeng Motors reported an increase in deliveries. Li Auto delivered 16,620 units last month, a gain of nearly 100 percent, and Nio's shipments nearly doubled to 12,157 units. Hozon Auto delivered over 10,000 NEVs, up 42 percent, while Xpeng's deliveries fell 3.3 percent to 6,010 units. Zeekr, the EV subsidiary of Geely, delivered 5,455 cars, an 87 percent increase, while Seres’s Aito brand saw sales up 230 percent to over 3,500 units in February.

Sales at China’s top 100 real estate developers in February increased by 35 percent from January and gained 28.5 percent from a year ago, according to figures from the China Index Academy. Moreover, the prices of new homes in 100 Chinese cities held at 16,174 yuan per square meter in February, unchanged from the previous month, ending the fall for seven consecutive months, the data showed.

China Vanke has raised about HK$3.9 billion through a new share placement at a discount of 6.1 percent, according to its filing today. The developer is selling 300 million H-shares at HK$13.05 apiece, accounting 15.7 percent of the existing stocks traded in Hong Kong. It plans to use 60 percent of the proceeds to repay debt and the rest to replenish working capital, the firm said.

Kuaishou Technology said late Wednesday it has submitted an application for an yuan counter to support the new Hong Kong dollar-yuan dual counter model. The Chinese short video platform believes the model will provide more investment flexibility and stock liquidity for its shareholders and potential investors. It is expected to be among the first Hong Kong listed companies to join the dual counter model.

Profits reported by the companies traded on Shanghai’s Nasdaq-like Star Market stood at more than 100 billion yuan for the first time last year. Combined net profits at the 507 firms listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange Science and Technology Innovation Board rose 8 percent to 114.4 billion yuan in 2022 from the year before. New energy companies had net profits of 32.7 billion yuan, a 126 percent surge. Operating revenues jumped 29 percent to 1.2 trillion yuan, surpassing 1 trillion yuan for the first time. More than 80 percent of the listed businesses reported a profit for last year, and nearly half grew earnings from the year before, with net profit doubling at some 41. But 45 companies logged declines of more than 50 percent, while 73 swung into the red or saw their losses widen.
